FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I use a dremel drill to treat my patients?
You could, but it is not recommended. The dremel drill’s bulky handpiece does not permit a confident grip or a secure control of the bur. The use of this drill results in a messy workspace with airborne contaminants as it does not evacuate dust in any way. Most importantly, dremel drills cannot handle a higher patient volume.
What is the difference between professional podiatry drills and pedicure drills?
Pedicure drills use light duty handpieces. Aggressive debridement performed by professional podiatrists demands more torque and a more robust support of the bur.
It may seem like pedicure drills can handle the heavy use by podiatrists, but after a few years – they underperform or fail. In comparison, a quality podiatric drill will live up to your expectations for 10 or more years.
Are water spray drills problem-prone?
No. The EFS Ortho-Spray drill uses a long lasting air compressor and a simple spray system that is easily cleaned. Its water reservoirs have fixed tubing connections that are easily extended, replaced, or unclogged.
Can I increase my patient load with your drills?
It is quite common for a single podiatrist to treat 40 or more patients a day with our heavy duty drills and still maintain high patient satisfaction. Water spray drills are the fastest debriding tool.
What does the warranty on my drill cover?
The warranty covers all parts of your drill (including the handpiece) and labour.
What do I do if there is a problem with my drill?
First, please contact us at 1-800-881-2243 or send us an email to info@a-foot.com, as many problems can be solved by our technical support team remotely. If we cannot solve the problem remotely, we will advise you on which parts to send us and provide you with an address and shipping instructions.
